The company discusses the challenges of getting certified organic seed into Mexico.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Garth Kahl, Owner of Independent Organic Services noted that the biggest barrier for organic seed in Mexico is availability. Organic growers just cannot get the seed they need. Growers are caught in a catch 22, as they can’t import untreated seed as under Mexican law it is prohibited.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Erica Renaud, Business Manger of Vitalis North America said that organic seed has been forced to evolve due to a clause in organic regulation which stipulates that organic growers must use organic seed when commercially available.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Getting seed in to the country legally represents a huge barrier for Mexican growers according to Enrique Pena, Sales Manager Mexico North.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">In spite of the difficulties, Vitalis has had by far the most success in the industry in terms of working with Mexican authorities concluded Kahl.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
