Following on the tail of last week’s brutal winter storm, more snow fell in parts of the East and Ohio Valley over the weekend, bringing little relief to a region already impacted by the storm.

Some parts of eastern New England picked up over six inches of snow, leaving extremely slick road conditions for drivers through Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Up to 20 inches of snow reached Maine as the storm continued to travel through the region and off its coast. Strong winds and near blizzard conditions hit coastal Maine as well, according to The Weather Channel. In Massachusetts especially, high winds and heavy snow left thousands without power along South Shore and on Cape Cod, according to Boston Globe.

Last week’s storm brought 22.5 inches of snow in Somerset County, PA, while parts of upstate New York received from 12 - 27 inches of snow, according to Epoch Times. In South Carolina alone, Epoch Times reports that nearly 228,000 homes and businesses had no power last Friday. Frozen roads and streets were deserted as the freezing rain and oncoming snow kept drivers at home.

As the storm moves off the coast, The Weather Channel reports that temperatures are expected to warm up this week in the South and slightly in the North.
