FRESNO, CA - Things are looking a little bit on the lighter side from the Baloian Farms fields as the company recently sent out its latest commodity updates.

First on the list are the bell peppers. The green bell peppers are on the light/stable side from Hermosillo and Los Mochis, Mexico, and are developing nicely through the end of the week. Elongated red peppers are on the lighter side coming in from Sonora and Sinaloa, Mexico, while the yellow and orange peppers from Hermosillo are also light. Red peppers are looking to be closer to normal with excellent quality. All peppers, however, are available from Nogales, Arizona.

According to Baloian Farms’ latest crop update, supplies of yellow and orange peppers from Hermosillo are currently light, and red peppers are looking to be closer to normal with excellent quality

Coming up are the squashes. Both zucchini and Spaghetti squash are available with zucchini on the lighter side from Guaymas, Mexico, and Spaghetti being closer to stable from Sonora and Sinaloa.

Sweet potatoes from Livingston, California, are stable and available all week coming from Fresno, California.

Lettuces are also seeing stable supplies as we start this week. Red and green leaves in addition to Romaines harvesting from Thermal, California, are currently available. Excellent quality is shaping up as fields are looking fantastic with great colors and sizes. Romaine hearts are also on the stable side from Mexicali, Mexico. With advanced notice, the grower noted it can pack 7x6 packs as well as 48 ct liner packs.

Brussels sprouts from Sonora are harvesting quite nicely, Baloian noted, as there has been great feedback on quality and sizing. Retailers, load with confidence as shoppers are sure to put these in their carts.

Cauliflower is looking to be in the light–stable range as well from Thermal as the week develops. With demand brisk for the grower, advanced notice will ensure quality supply. Spinach is looking quite lovely out of Thermal as well with stable supplies all week if Mother Nature is cooperative. Celery, on the other hand, is fairly light this week. Advanced notice will ensure supplies make it to shelves, so retailers, check in with your sales rep to ensure loads.
