DELTA, BC - British Columbia Premier David Eby is urging residents to support Canadian businesses during a visit to a Save-On-Foods location in Vancouver last week. Eby highlighted WINDSET FARMS® as a key partner in strengthening BC’s food security.

Representing Windset Farms® at the announcement was Co-Founder and COO John Newell, who reinforced the company’s commitment to supplying fresh, sustainably grown produce, to Canadians year-round. Windset’s recent partnership with BC Hydro has allowed them to expand their Delta greenhouse facility, installing LED lights powered by renewable electricity, allowing for consistent, environmentally responsible production of tomatoes and cucumbers even during the winter months.

“The way British Columbians and Canadians have stepped up to support local businesses has been absolutely inspirational,” said Premier Eby in a recent press release. “Windset Farms’ expansion is a prime example of how we can strengthen BC’s food security, displace imported products, and ensure our communities have access to high-quality, sustainably grown food.”
To help shoppers recognize Canadian grown produce, Windset Farms® has introduced a new “Proudly Grown in Canada” logo on all its BC-grown products. The company has also partnered with local social media influencers to connect with consumers, helping them find BC-grown produce and learn about Windset’s sustainable growing practices.

“With our ‘Proudly Grown in Canada’ label we’re making it easier than ever for consumers to recognize and choose Canadian,” said John Newell. “As a family-owned Canadian company, our goal is to provide fresh, sustainable produce to our communities 365 days a year.”
Eby also announced expanded ‘Buy BC’ advertisements and a new online tool to help consumers locate locally grown products, reinforcing the province’s commitment to supporting businesses like Windset Farms®.
