Colorful Harvest is expecting to see 2014 production of purple, orange, green, and white cauliflowers to almost double that of previous years. With good demand so far, 2014 looks to be a great year for cauliflower lovers.
Having formed new relationships with the Andrew Smith Company and Eckhart Seed Company of Salinas, California, plans are underway for further expansion and diversification of its colorful product line, according to a press release.
“We are very excited about what the new synergies in development, production, and marketing can bring to our business,” said Steffanie Smith, CEO.
In other news, Colorful Harvest says it will be offering cantaloupes in mid-May from Brawley and Holtville, California. John Chubbuck will manage the program as Business Development Manager for melons. Colorful Harvest’s signature sweet red corn will also be coming from these two areas around the same time.
Lee Cobb, the company’s new VP for blueberry development, is also exploring opportunities in California for continued expansion for its blueberry program.
And finally, “Rainbow Crunch®” carrots are also in high demand and year round production has continued to increase year to year.
