NOGALES, AZ - Two formidable industry forces are coming together for one common goal. Delta Fresh Sales has welcomed industry veteran David Lundstrom as its new Category Manager working from the Nogales, Arizona, sales office.
“I am excited for this new opportunity to represent this well-respected company, having a chance to work with people who are focused on positive growth and who want to make a difference in the industry,” Lundstrom stated. “The lure to retire was met by the chance to continue to have fun. Coincidentally, with this new position, along with all the other fine labels at Delta, part of my responsibilities will be working with the Delta Sales Team marketing product from tomato growing operation who are the same people my father worked for when he started out in the business. I get a chance to follow in my father’s footsteps and now work with a new generation who currently pack under the Arista label distributed exclusively by Delta Fresh Sales.”
According to a press release, Lundstrom is a seasoned veteran of the Mexican Fruit and Vegetable deal.
Atanasio Panousopuolos, Owner and Chief Executive Officer, commented on the appointment.

We already have the very best tomato in North America for eight months out of the year, and now we are expanding our lineup and adding an aggressive value-added program as well as a new spring grape deal with sought-after proprietary varieties and winter blueberries,” he said. “Having David’s talent, expertise, experience, and high energy level will greatly enhance our service levels to our customers and growers as we continue to expand our business.”
Jerry Wagner, Senior Business Advisor, also shared some words about the new hire.

Very happy we will have a chance to pick up where we left off and be part of this new project that capitalizes on Delta’s long history and strengths in the West Mexico Vegetable Deal,” Wagner added. “Adding new fruit commodities to the lineup along with increases in our vegetable and tomato product mix and our ever-growing transportation fleet makes for an exciting time to be here at Delta.”
