<p> Despite record-setting frigid weather battering down on Florida farms, U.S. crops are escaping relatively unscathed with little damage overall, according to Bloomberg.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Temperatures were expected to get as low as the upper teens in north Florida, according to Miami Herald, but growers tell AndNowUKnow that good cloud cover kept the temperatures above freezing. Temperatures were reportedly in the high 30s Fahrenheit in South Florida overnight.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Kyle Tapley, a meteorologist with MDA Weather Services in Gaithersburg, Maryland, said that temperatures will continue to stay in the upper 30s, posing no threat to trees. Hopefully, so long as temperatures stay above 28 degrees, Florida oranges will remain safe. By January 9, Tapley expects to see temperatures rise to the mid-40s.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Even as southerners attempt to stay warm for the rest of the week, for now, it appears that all will be well in the long run.
