Gary Wishnatzki, Owner of Wish Farms

Right now we are harvesting strawberries from all of our Florida farms. The farms are those that we market for from in a radius around Plant City, including Dawit farms located about thirty miles to the south, farms up in Floral City situated about sixty miles to the north and fields to the east in Springhead, and the some to the west in Dover. The unforeseeable warm weather experienced back in November and December accelerated the fruit. Currently, we have a freeze expected to only be a temporary setback for production. We suffered quality a little bit back in December due to the warm temperatures, but now that we are here in January with cooler temperatures we are seeing the fruit firming up a bit. The volume is actually more than double the production compared to last year. The increased volume has pushed prices down to levels that we haven't seen since 2008/2009.

www.wishfarms.com

Dan Crowley Sales Manager of Well Pict

Our strawberry crop is coming out of Wimauma, Florida, which is about twelve miles south of Plant City. The weather has been ideal all through December and over the New Year's weekend, but we had a freeze warning Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night. I do believe that the freeze event will be short lived. It is then supposed to warm back up to normal temperatures. Supplies have been very adequate. Actually, there was a little bit too much supply for the demand that was out there. The prices have now adjusted and there is a much better balance at present. Everyone can and will be promoting for Valentine's Day. We will have projected volumes, very adequate for retail promotions for that time period.

www.wellpict.com

Craig Casca Vice President of Red Blossom

We do a little bit in Dawit, but mostly Plant City. The weather has been unseasonably warm to this point. That will change drastically depending on how cold it is going to get and how long it stays cold. They are probably going to water and get squared away. We aren't really going to know how much damage there is from the cold until Monday of next week. (Supply has been, supply exceeds)? for the past couple weeks, so its been very difficult up until this point. Market has been lower than anticipated, because of supply and much bad promotion.

www.redblossom.com
