CARLSBAD, CA - Location is certainly key, and in the case of West Coast growers, the Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference (WFPC) returning to Carlsbad, California, presents a unique opportunity to attend during a hectic time in the fresh produce calendar.
“I was excited to be able to encourage a large participation from GEM-Pack this year. We have a really dynamic team of women in key positions, and this will allow us to not only network within the industry, but also connect with each other since we are representing four different GEM-Pack office locations,” Michelle Deleissegues, Senior Vice President of Marketing for the berry provider, shared with me.
Because April is a busy time for customer and industry events alike, she has not been able to attend until this year and can speak directly to the alignment of the conference’s location return.
“Our entire team will be first-timers and will be arriving with open minds and looking to connect, learn, and share!” she assured.
With WFPC’s focus not only on uplifting the women in our industry, but also on networking and promoting connections that both contribute and go beyond the bottom line, Michelle was able to advocate for this as a great introduction to the industry for team members.
“One of the reasons I encouraged such a large turnout from GEM-Pack is that we have quite a few relatively new employees who come from other industries, and I wanted them to be able to connect directly with others in the fresh produce industry, and hear and see more what a dynamic industry fresh is,” Michelle concluded.
As we continue to report from and beyond the 2026 WFPC, hosted by the International Fresh Produce Association April 6–8, keep an eye on AndNowUKnow for more.
