<p>With the California grape season in full swing, the next big question comes from the Southern hemisphere - will Brazilian grapes flood the market?</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>California has had an amazing year so far. With table grapes shipping at a record pace recently and strong demand worldwide, the industry is on pace for another record crop year.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Growers tell us that they are fairly certain that grapes from Brazil are not going to flood the market this year as there are fewer grapes coming than most years past and California's quality is outstanding. Additionally, new production of late green grape varieties in California have lessened the need for Brazilian supplies. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The greens from California are fresher by a few weeks, sweeter, lower priced, and are a domestic product, growers note, which this market loves. Grapes imported from Brazil have to go through a week of cold treatment. Brazilian Festival supplies which began to challenge the market five or so years ago are not posing that same threat anymore. We are told that there will probably not be an influx of the variety since late season varieties, like the Autumn King, have extended the domestic grape season from California.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Maybe the better question is...Is the window closing for Brazilian grapes? </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
