<p>Summer is here and California is really starting to heating up. The San Joaquin Valley is slated to feel temperatures rise into the triple digits as the weekend approaches with digits rising Thursday into the mid to upper 90's and to a high of around 102-106 on Friday. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The significant warming trend is expected into the weekend as a high pressure ridge strengthens considerably, according Terry Snow's weather service. Peak heating is still anticipated into Saturday, with max temps rising between 106 and 109. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>A grower in the region tells AndNowUKnow, the heat is definitely on the company's mind as it normally is for this time of year. They are constantly watching the weather reports and are doing their best to be proactive in their efforts to minimize its potential negative effects. The grower notes that they have seen this particular heat wave on the horizon for a few days now and have been pushing to get some of their heat-sensitive items, like stonefruit, harvested more quickly than normal. For their blueberries, the natural winding-down of the season coupled with this heat will most definitely bring an abrupt end to the blueberry season in the SJV. But overall, this is just part of the job for them. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Growers reflect that change is the name of the game in the produce industry and they are accustomed to moving with the ebbs and flows of everything they encounter, in this case, the weather.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Northwest winds could reach up to 20 mph today.
