<p>The Northwest cherry season is just starting to heat up! Hood River Cherry Company is anticipating another round of exceptional crops as <B>harvest begins by July 20th</b> and lasts until late August, possibly early September. This summer, the company will start harvesting Bing cherries, followed by Lapin, Skeena, and Sweetheart.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> <img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/hoodriver_body3_060514.jpg" alt="images 060314" /></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> Hood River Cherry Company’s orchards are one of the highest elevation cherry orchards in the Northwest. Its lofty location and longer growing season results in <B>sweeter, larger, and more flavorful cherries</b>. Volume looks to be similar to last year’s crop, but quality will continue to be phenomenal with near perfect weather as the harvest kicks off.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> <img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/hoodriver_body2_060514.jpg" alt="images 060314" /></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> Speaking on pricing, Hood River Cherry Company’s Brad Fowler, Co-owner, tells AndNowUKnow, “Pricing fluctuates mid-season, but strengthens at the end. Our high elevation cherries always sell well because they are the latest freshly picked cherries, and shipped fresh packed.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> <img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/hoodriver_body1_060514.jpg" alt="images 060314" /></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> There’s a plethora of <B>retail support</b> available as well.
