SALINAS, CA - Experience on both the buy- and supply-sides provides a significant advantage to those operating in our industry. Ippolito Fruit & Produce’s new Director of Sales, Retail has just that. The company recently named Michèle McMillan to the role, effective March 28.
“I am excited to join the Ippolito Fruit & Produce team at a time when great things are on the horizon. I look forward to working with the team to grow our business and help Canadians access the fresh fruits and vegetables they need to lead a healthy life,” she shared with ANUK.
McMillan has held roles within retail category management, private label program development, and most recently sales for a national grower/packer/shipper. According to a press release, she also spent over 12 years with Sobeys, where she held various positions including Procurement Director – Private Label Bakery/Deli/HMR/Produce/Grocery Non-Food.
The new Director of Sales, Retail transitioned to the supply-side in 2018, taking up the role of Director National Accounts at Thomas Fresh.
The press release noted that McMillan is also actively involved in promoting the produce industry through her involvement with multiple industry associations. She was a member of the Canadian Produce Marketing Association Board of Directors from 2010–2018 and was re-elected once again in 2021.
