CHICAGO, IL - Kroger’s meal kit delivery subsidiary Home Chef is greenifying its product lineup, expanding its selection to include more produce-forward fare. In addition to its newest line of Slow Cooker recipes, the company also unveiled an increased variety of Entrée Salads and Oven-Ready meal kits.
"At Home Chef, we want our customers to make meals uniquely their own,” said Pat Vihtelic, Home Chef Founder and CEO. "Home Chef's new slow cooker meals bring you the same delicious flavors and fresh ingredients you've come to expect, but with an entirely new way of cooking. Plus, you may have enough for leftovers the next day.”
According to a press release, the Entrée Salad and Oven-Ready additions are the result of Home Chef's culinary research and development team's dedication to continuously enhancing and finessing recipes that match today's tastes and meet the demands of today's busy lifestyles. The no-cook salad recipes—each made with fresh ingredients and optional proteins—can be prepared and served in as few as five minutes and include the following mixes:
- Tomato and Poblano Salad with Chipotle Ranch and Crispy Tortillas
- Carrot and Pea Salad with Mango Vinaigrette and Sliced Almonds
In the same vein, the newly expanded selection of Oven-Ready recipes tap into consumers’ convenience cravings by allowing for a quick assembly and a provided oven-safe pan. The new recipes vary week-to-week—with 19 different recipes in total—but can include fresh produce-infused menu-stoppers (like show-stoppers) including the following:
- Chicken and Chili Lime Enchilada Sauce with Red Peppers
- Corn, and Black Beans
- Turkey Tinga Tacos with Sour Cream and Crispy Jalapeños
- Mushroom Pork Chops with Roasted Green Beans and Crispy Onions
Home Chef's online menu features recipes that fit the bill for all home chef skill levels and dietary preferences—with the company’s meal kits available in any of Kroger’s 2,000 stores around the country.
