Michigan Apple Crop Hit By Frost

<p>Some Michigan apple growers have reported heavy damage to their crop in the on the heels of a frost that hit May 13th.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Temperatures that dipped into the 20s caused Sietsema Orchards and Cider Mill of Ada to lose more than half its crop, said owner Andy Sietsema. He noted that his family’s peach orchard fared better as its blossoms were better equipped to handle the low temperatures, as reported by MLive. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/michigan-apple-frost.jpg" alt="images 051313 2" /></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Other growers reported less damage.
