ORLANDO, FL - As different areas across North America respond as necessary to continued COVID-19 concerns, foodservice has been the branch of our industry most impacted by demands to remain fluid in recent months. As partners continue to strive to rethink and restructure a mainstay in consumer eating, the National Mango Board hosted a free Mango Strategy Webinar earlier this week.

“From the webinar hosted by the National Mango Board, everyone can see that mango is here to stay,” shared Marketing Manager Angela Serna. “Mango penetration has reached a milestone of 40% and, as consumers continue to crave the flavor of mango, operators are ensuring that this flavorful fruit is included in menus around the country. Delivery of high-quality whole, fresh-cut, and frozen mango is key for growth, which is expected to be an additional 10% in the next few years.”

In the webinar, the team shared insights on the current foodservice landscape and food trends for mangos, demonstrating ideas for culinary innovation and supply chain plans to help businesses not just continue, but grow.

Presenters in the webinar included Angela Serna, Marketing Manager for the National Mango Board; Tim Beerup, Produce Supply Chain Consultant for Beerup, Inc.; Jason Hernandez, Chef Consultant at Blade & Tine Culinary Consulting; and Mike Kostyo, Trendologist for Datassential.

According to a press release, the Foodservice Marketing program supports the NMB’s mission to increase the consumption of mangos in the U.S. by inspiring, educating, and supporting menu development teams and the mango supply chain.
