When the temperature drops below 32 degrees, the artichoke’s skin darkens, which seals in more flavor and provides a nuttier flavor profile underneath its slightly darker exterior, as explained in a press release. Once cooked, the outer layer peels off, unveiling the familiar green artichoke shoppers know.
Each of Ocean Mist Farms’ Frost Kissed artichokes includes a petal insert to let the shoppers know about this unique condition and highlight it on the shelf, and Frost Kissed POS materials are available for order on the Ocean Mist Farms website.
To highlight the value of Frost Kissed artichokes as a satisfying menu item, the supplier is also rolling out unique recipe inspiration via its social media channels, in addition to providing information on its website to educate consumers about the variety.
