LAKELAND, FL - If you take a look at Publix’s goals for 2023, I’m sure you will find growth in its home state somewhere on that list. This strategy has been made evident by the grocer’s most recent slew of expansions, all targeted in the booming Florida market. Most recently, Publix pulled back the curtain on its newest store in Tampa, Florida.
“As a whole, we look for opportunities to best serve our customers and, in some cases, alleviate congestion in stores, in addition to allowing for the best traffic patterns in a particular area,” commented Lindsey Willis, Publix Media Relations Manager.
According to the Miami Herald, Publix opened the doors to its newest store on Thursday, March 2, at Gandy Shopping Center in Tampa, Florida. The store stands at 60,000 square feet. The grocer also unveiled plans for yet another new Florida store, a 48,000-square-foot location in Santa Rosa County that opened on March 8.
Both of these expansions come shortly after the chain opened another new 48,000-square-foot location on February 23.
