Residents Called on to Help as California Battles Citrus Threat

<p>As the number one fresh citrus producing state in the nation, California homeowners have more citrus trees in our yards than in any other state. The state's trees are being threatened as the Asian citrus psyllid spreads throughout California carrying a tree disease called Huanglongbing (HLB), according to a press release.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>With no cure, the California Department of Food and Agriculture, the Citrus Pest &amp; Disease Prevention Program, the United States Department of Agriculture and others have joined together to try and combat the spread of the disease threatening the state’s $2 billion citrus industry.
