JACKSONVILLE, FL - Over the years, Southeastern Grocers (SEG), the parent company of Fresco Y Más, Harveys Supermarket, and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, has made its commitment to culture well known. In an effort to cultivate inclusion and diversity among its suppliers, the company is hosting a virtual Local & Diverse Supplier Connect event on November 1.
Through the event, the retailer is hoping to connect with and collaborate with underrepresented suppliers, and in turn, provide stores with an expanded variety of local and diverse products. According to a release, the grocer will focus on sourcing items across grocery, fresh, frozen, household, and more.
SEG is partnering with ECRM and RangeMe to source, qualify, and connect suppliers with the appropriate buyers. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with SEG buyers and category managers to share their company background, product information, and marketing plans.
This is SEG’s fourth event focused on reaching out to diverse or local suppliers and comes after the retailer’s recent July Supplier Connect sourcing event. Currently, SEG works with almost 300 diverse and local suppliers throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
