Jessica Peri, Retail Sales Manager for Peri & Sons Farms, said, “The weather has been excellent. The summer has been very moderate in temperature, which doesn’t put a lot of stress on the onions, which in turn yields a greater crop and better quality. Supply is looking excellent. We are looking forward to a very successful season in Nevada.” <hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">John Shuman, President of Shuman Produce, Inc., explained, “It’s too early to see what the industry’s doing, but we’ve had a really good start to that season. We got good arrivals coming in through the Port of Savannah in the southeast. Coming out of Peru right now, we expect to have good supplies throughout the season.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Richard Pazderski, Director of Sales and Marketing for Bland Farms, stated quote, “Weather right now has been pretty good. The main place we were affected is in New York. Wet weather during planting caused us not to get all of our crop in the ground. We really only got 30 percent planted when we needed to. Supply is good, we got so many different growing areas that we pull from, we can typically supply fresh sweet onions year-round.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
