BAKERSFIELD, CA – Tasteful Selections is preparing for the opening of its new packaging facility in Bakersfield with a new marketing campaign, “Small potatoes. Big opportunities.” According to a press release, the 200,000 square foot facility will be dedicated to storage, grading and packaging of Tasteful Selections specialty potatoes.

Company officials share that the Bakersfield site will help meet the growing demand for the Tasteful Selections line of products, which has experienced impressive growth over the recent past. The newest addition to the line, organic baby potatoes, has grown 44.2% in terms of dollars and 35.3% in terms of volume.

The “Small potatoes. Big opportunities” was designed to tie in with this grand opening. Kicking off in January with “Small potatoes, Big sales,” the campaign is designed to educate current and future retail partners about the sales benefits of the Tasteful Selections product line and how Tasteful Selections is continuing to lead innovation in the potato category.

According to a press release, “Small potatoes. Big opportunities” will continue through March. Additional topics are set to follow “Big sales” until the grand opening date.

In honor of the campaign, RPE will be hosting a day for trade media on March 18th, followed by another event dedicated to food bloggers. Private tours for retailers will be available throughout the month. Tasteful Selections also adds that additional phases of the campaign and grand opening will be announced to the public in the coming weeks.

Tasteful Selections is sold in 52.9% of stores across the United States. It has also outpaced the 13% sales growth rate enjoyed by the petite and specialty potato category over the previous year, with an impressive 17% growth.
