Most crops suffered some dehydration, and wilting and leafy items. Iceberg and romaine were potentially exposed to heat the caused tip burn, internal burn and occasionally sunscald on the outer leaves.

The temperatures are also moving some of the crops forward, so they will need to be harvested sooner. Temperatures were in the mid to high 90’s for most of last week.

Growers have been assessing the possible damage for the past couple days.

The heat complications add to some remaining freeze related issues like blister and epidermal peel.
