Joplin, MO - As 2012 has taken off, ALDI has become a proud contributor to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's recent project in Joplin, Missouri. Through the project, seven homes were built in seven days for families affected by the destruction of the May tornadoes. ALDI has done its part by presenting the families with ALDI gift certificates to help fill their kitchens with fresh groceries and household essentials. Mark Bersted, Division Vice President, presented the gifts at a press conference for the conclusion of the project. Mr. Bersted states, "After the horrible destruction caused by the Joplin tornadoes, we wanted our neighbors to know that we are in this with them, and that ALDI is committed not only to rebuilding our store, but also to helping rebuild Joplin."
