MUSKEGON, MI - A busy area of Michigan is about to get even busier. It was recently announced that Aldi will be expanding its footprint in the state with the opening of a new store. Located in Muskegon Township, the store is expected to open later in 2023.

According to mlive, a site plan amendment was recently approved by the township planning commission. Included in the plan is the partial demolition of the existing structure, which used to house a Great Lakes Market location.

The store location is part of the Beltline Plaza and located in close proximity to apartment complexes, providing ample opportunity to gain new customers in the market. The news source stated that demolition is expected to begin in mid-April. Around 7,000 square feet of the building will be demolished to create a parking structure, while the rest of the store will receive updates.

ANUK will continue to keep our eyes on this expanding grocer, so don’t go anywhere.
