The Marsh supermarket in Downtown Indianapolis experienced a flood of traffic as they stocked up on essentials, such as milk and bread. At the Marsh at 320 N. New Jersey St., store manager Larry Schultz expected record sales for Sunday, according to the Indy Star.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">In anticipation of the storm, Chicago area residents also flooded area grocery stores, according to a report in ABC7 Local. Many people don’t want to risk running out of essentials if they’re forced to stay off the roads, Fox 17 noted. The parking lot was packed and finding a shopping cart required waiting, shoppers reported. In addition, Meijer stores around West Michigan had similar experiences, noting empty shelves, long checkout lanes, and packed aisles were par for the course.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/hl_arctic_storm_jan_06_2014_body02.jpg" alt="images 010614" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">As of early this morning, more than 98,000 customers across six states had lost electricity as temperatures continue to drop. Over 3,400 flights have already been canceled today nationwide and 1,800 more are delayed, as reported by The Weather Channel.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Transportation companies tell us that their challenges lie in the safety of their drivers.
