Associated Wholesale Grocers is planning to construct a 35,000-square-foot facility, the new home for its corporate headquarters and 92 employees that are relocating for the venture. The site is presently the company's distribution center but will become the location for the new office, a part of AWG's strategy for major expansion. AWG has been recognized as the second largest privately held company in the Kansas City region with the promise of continued growth. The company has also been recognized by Ingram’s magazine as one among "the top 100 fastest growing companies in the metro area for the fourth consecutive year," with its expansion including new grocery stores and a distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas. George Brajkovic, property manager for the Unified Government (UG) of Wyandotte County, states, "AWG has been part of our community for 40 years and we’re excited about the announcement of this expansion and additional investment in Kansas City, Kansas."<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">www.awginc.com<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
