Comp-store sales at BJ's Wholesale increased by two and a half percent for the company's fiscal third quarter ending Oct. 30, and saw further gains over the last month. BJ’s reported that non-fuel comps improved by 2.2% during October. A calendar shift in the timing of Halloween helped Monthly sales improved by 6.3%, helped by this year's late Halloween. BJ's quarterly sales topped $2.6 billion, almost a 5% gain from the same period a year ago. Sales for the year-to-date period of $7.8 billion are an 8.6% improvement over the same period in 2009, according to BJ's. Fresh food sales improved 4% for the quarter, and 5% in October alone.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
