FRESNO, CA - Recently, former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy announced that he would be leaving Congress come year’s end. As he prepares to exit his seat, the California Fresh Fruit Association (CFFA) released a statement thanking the politician for his role in the United States House of Representatives.
“On behalf of the California Fresh Fruit Association membership, we are grateful to Congressman Kevin McCarthy for his support of the fresh fruit industry throughout his career in public service. He has worked tirelessly on behalf of California agriculture in his efforts to fix our broken water systems,” said President Daniel Hartwig. “We are proud to have had the 55th Speaker of the House come from the Central Valley, which is home to many of the fresh fruit commodities that the Association represents. Congressman McCarthy’s office has always been open to engage with CFFA members to address specific issues the industry is facing. Thank you, Congressman McCarthy. We are grateful for your leadership and service.”
Throughout Representative McCarthy’s 16 years of Congressional service, he has placed some of his focus on California’s agriculture industry, addressing some of the pivotal hurdles that affect growers.
