The private investment firm, is said to be keep a close eye on Harris Teeter, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. The publication reports that knowledge of the possible bid was revealed by sources familiar with the matter. Cerberus is looking at nearly a half-dozen grocery chains for potential bids as part of a possible strategy to expand its grocery business. Morgan Securities LLC to assist the supermarket retailer in holding discussions with certain parties regarding strategic alternatives.
