BRAZIL - Lemons are the latest victims in criminals’ attempts to smuggle drugs into another country. Luckily for the yellow fruit, officials of the Federal Revenue Service at the Port of Santos in Brazil intercepted the shipment, discovering 85 kilos (over 187 lbs) of cocaine hidden inside.
According to Band.com.br, the shipment was headed for Greece with a stop scheduled in Morocco. Federal Revenue’s Risk Management Area analyzed the export shipment, and the customs authority at the port stopped it for further inspection.
The Federal Police seized the cocaine found inside of the lemon shipment, and according to the news source, no arrests have been made in connection to the crime.
