Fresh & Easy Stores in West San Jose to Close by Friday

<p>Fresh &amp; Easy stores in the Bay Area are the next to shut down following the Yucaipa acquisition of the company.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/sf_closure_fresh_easy_sept_2013_BODY.jpg" alt="Cropped images September 19th 2013" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Fresh &amp; Easy stores at Saratoga and Payne avenues in West San Jose will close as early as Thursday afternoon, while Friday is the last day for the San Francisco Bayview neighborhood store at Third Street and Carroll Avenue, according to Mercury News. Closing Fresh &amp; Easy stores have been selling products at half-off the original price as the company attempts to liquidate remaining merchandise.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Fifty Fresh &amp; Easy stores in California, Arizona, and Nevada became ownerless after Yucaipa’s acquisition of the company. Most stores not purchased by Yucaipa will also close by Friday.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Nevertheless, the Bay Area will still get to keep 17 Fresh &amp; Easy stores, which stretch north to Napa and east to Brentwood.
