BAKERSFIELD, CA - Different retailers and foodservice operators have different needs regarding produce offerings; it is not a one size fits all. This is something Grimmway Farms understands, which is why the producer of carrots and organic vegetables has a wide array of products to meet each partner’s needs. It will highlight its extensive portfolio at this year’s Global Produce & Floral Show put on by the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA).

David Bright, Vice President of Marketing, Grimmway Farms“Grimmway offers products geared toward the retail, wholesale, foodservice, and industrial channels, to make the freshest and highest quality vegetables accessible to everyone,” says David Bright, Vice President of Marketing. “Each item is designed to provide the end user with the product required to meet their specific needs, relying heavily on automation to lower the cost of production, harvesting, processing, and packaging. Pack sizes range from as small as a 1.6 oz bag to a 1400 lb bin.”

At booth #3960, Grimmway will feature its entire product portfolio, including its organic, conventional, and value-added carrot options and 65 organic vegetables. The grower will also be educating attendees on its ongoing sustainable agriculture practices.

“With the spectacular growth in organic vegetable sales over the last decade, Grimmway Farms and Cal-Organic Farms are perfectly positioned to supply growing demand. Since carrots can only be grown in a field once every three years, Grimmway Farms acquired Cal-Organic Farms more than 20 years ago to grow our organic carrot program with rotational crops that augment our product portfolio, nourish the land for long-term fertility, maintain soil health, and help naturally control pests,” explains David.

Grimmway Farms is one of the largest carrot producers in the world, with more than 60,000 acres under cultivation. The company has over 50,000 acres of organic vegetables processed in 19 facilities. This scale enables Grimmway to offer its customers a consistent year-round supply of fresh carrots and organic products all produced in the United States, meeting consumer demand for U.S. and locally grown offerings.

Further helping its customers, the supplier provides customized order fulfillment solutions to meet their needs.

“Our distribution centers load trucks six days each week, 24 hours per day,” adds David. “Customers are encouraged to schedule appointments to pick up FOB orders product for total load times that average less than two hours. Grimmway Transportation Solutions also provides transportation services across town or North America to customers who prefer orders delivered to their distribution centers.”

As David explains, carrot demand is anticipated to remain strong due to the category’s versatility as shoppers look to maximize the value of the food they buy amid rising inflation. Organic vegetable demand is also expected to continue being an engine for produce department growth, making now the perfect time to team up with Grimmway.
