Charlotte, NC<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The Ruddick Corporation has changed its name from Ruddick Corporation to Harris Teeter Supermarkets. The Board of Directors decided that the name change is a good direction for the company as the new name better portrays Ruddick's current business operations and the strategies and focus in which the company engages. Harris Teeter carries a strong tradition and reputation of quality and customer service that serves as a perfect fit for Ruddick's philosophies. The Board also approved changing the ticker symbol for shares of the company's common stock. The stock which was listed on the New York Stock Exchange as "RDK" changed "HTSI" on April 2, 2012. Also effective on this date were the name change and the relocation of the company's principal offices to those of its subsidiary, Harris Teeter, Inc. in North Carolina. The Company also announced some changes in the ranks. Thomas W. Dickson was named Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Frederick J. Morganthall, II, assumes the role of President and Chief Operating Officer, John B. Woodlief has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Rodney C.
