JC Myers Discusses SunFed's Sonoran Squash Program, Increased Acreage, and Market Demand

SONORA, MX - This new crop is demanding a premium. These are the words of SunFed’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, JC Myers, as he shares the latest on the company’s annual squash program from Sonora under its Perfect Produce® label.

JC Myers, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, SunFed“The Sonoran season is underway and about 10 days behind schedule due to a longer than typical monsoon season,” JC details. “We have kicked off our late fall crop, supported by increased demand from our retail and foodservice partners and acreage that is up 20 percent. We enjoy being first to market and while demand exceeds supply, we are ramping up production quickly.”

SunFed is offering both conventional and organic Italian zucchini, yellow Straightneck, and grey squash, with Slicer cucumbers just around the corner.

The company will be distributing Sonoran squash and slicer cucumbers via SunFed’s Nogales, Arizona, and McAllen, Texas, facilities in both bulk and grab-n-go packaging options.
