Billionaire Ron Burkle will use the acquired Fresh & Easy stores to revive his Boulder, CO-based Wild Oats brand. Yucaipa kept the Wild Oats name when the company was sold to Whole Foods in 2007, and a recently launched Wild Oats website announced that Wild Oats natural markets are back and are “writing the next chapter.” Nevertheless, Burkle is reportedly planning to bring in more fresh and local items to augment the convenience foods at the existing Fresh & Easy stores.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Current Fresh & Easy stores in El Cajon, Santee, and Escondido will close their doors on Friday.
