Joe Grieshaber Selected as New Kroger President of the Columbus Division Upon Long-Time Leader Bruce Macaulay's Retirement

CINCINNATI, OH - As the retirement of current Kroger President of the Columbus Division and 42-year long member Bruce Macaulay approaches, the company has selected experienced industry leader Joe Grieshaber in his stead.

With over three decades in the industry, the Kroger executives are confident they have made the right selection, according to a press release.

"His strong values and engagement with our associates will ensure continued growth and success in our Columbus division. We are looking forward to Joe's continued leadership."

Having begun his career in the retail industry as a store management trainee in 1983, the now-57-year-old President has worked his way through several facets of the Kroger business, including meat merchandiser, district manager, vice president of merchandising for the Columbus division, and Group Vice President of Perishables Merchandising and Procurement. His current and most recent role has been that of President for Dillons, which he has held since 2010.

Grieshaber joins the rest of the Kroger family in the bittersweet parting of current President Macaulay as he begins his next chapter.

"Bruce's passion for our associates, customers and the community have contributed to Kroger's growth in countless ways," Grieshaber said in the release. “While his knowledge, compassion and guidance will be missed, Bruce's legacy will continue within our industry, company, and the community."

As the company continues to adjust to this newest transition, we await the announcement of who will step into Grieshaber’s position as he moves up to this new opportunity.
