Kroger and IFCO have reached a sustainability milestone. A shipment of lettuce representing the twenty-billionth pound of produce delivered in one of IFCO's reusable plastic containers, recently made its way to Kroger's distribution center in Delaware, Ohio. This marks more than fifteen years of RPC growth in the industry and reinforces Kroger's commitment to sustainability. The amount of fresh produce Kroger currently ships in RPCs this year will do away with over 45 million pounds of waxed and corrugated boxes that would need disposing of. Phil Davis, Senior Perishables Supply Chain Manager for The Kroger Co., states, "What started as a sustainable solution to ensure the highest quality of fruits and vegetables for our customers has grown into an impactful way for Kroger to reduce waste and improve the efficiency of our produce supply chain. IFCO is a great partner in helping Kroger and our suppliers meet our sustainability commitments."

www.kroger.com

www.ifco-us.com
