Kroger has officially announced its 2011 Supplier of the Year awards and honorees, recognizing key suppliers for their contributions to its private brand labels. Linda Severin VP of corporate brands for Kroger stated that "Our Supplier of the Year Awards recognize partners that support Kroger's commitment to give shoppers an extensive selection of quality products at good prices.” This year, two new categories were introduced to honor the most outstanding innovator and most outstanding design agency. Kroger’s long term spice supplier McCormick & Co. received the Outstanding Innovator Award for its customer-centered approach to product development and quality. Re:GENERATE Design was given the outstanding design agency award for its innovative redesign of the Kroger brand line of products. Additional honorees are chosen based on the suppliers’ contributions to Kroger’s private label business. Among the comprehensive list of honorees are Prime Choice Foods, Maple Leaf Bakery, Campbell Soup Co, and G&S Metal Products.
