EDMONTON, CANADA - Earlier this year, AndNowUKnow and The Snack hosted our annual Besties Awards event in Monterey, California. We were proud to recognize some of the fresh produce industry’s most influential players. One such supply-side ace was The Little Potato Company, honored for Best Rebrand.
“The investment in the rebrand was important to our organization because we wanted to better align with the needs of our consumers,” Heather Jeffares, Vice President of Marketing, told me upon reflection. “We wanted to be more approachable and lean into supporting families to provide nutritious and fun meal solutions. At The Little Potato Company, we strive to create little moments of happiness for busy families, and we feel the new branding really brings that goal to life in an engaging and authentic way.”
Launched in 2023, The Little Potato Company brand is built around consumers. Heather shared that the company takes their needs into consideration—their busy lives, the way they want to feed themselves and their families—and endeavors to provide great experiences for them through the brand. The Little Potato brand and products come together to create little moments of happiness in consumers’ busy lives.
“We have developed Little Potato Company products to deliver delicious and convenient meal solutions,” she continued. “We have also developed many brand assets that augment the experience of sharing time together, such as the Little Connection initiative. This initiative centers around the Little Connection cards that help spark great conversation or the Little Connection lunchbox cards that allow busy parents to give some inspiration to their kids when they are eating their lunch at school. Both of these are free and found on our website.”
Following the rollout of the rebrand, The Little Potato Company has promoted new campaigns featuring the Spuddies little potato mascots playing sports, learning in the classroom, enjoying the onset of spring, or meeting up in a snow globe.
“We are having fun showing how our Little Potatoes can play a role at different times of the year for all life’s little moments,” Heather concluded.
For the Besties awards, our team handles the initial nominations to ensure each nominee meets our stringent standards. We then share our nominees with our Besties committee.
The committee is composed of experienced retail buyers or individuals with substantial experience and knowledge in their respective fields. Each committee member received a ballot with three nominations for each award category. Based on their votes, we determine the winners of the Bestie Awards.
