All 24 grocery locations across the Greater Toronto area are providing employees with eco-friendly uniforms with the help of eco-apparel leader, Me to We Style, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/longosbody1.jpg" alt="Images 121912" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> "Choosing an eco-friendly apparel provider was the natural option for us," stated Anthony Longo, President of Longo's. "As a family-owned business, we are committed to positively impacting the community, our employees and our customers, and are proud to outfit our employees in Me to We Style, an organization that shares in our values.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The new uniforms are black polo t-shirts with the Longo’s logo that are created from viscose from bamboo &amp; organic cotton. The comfortable fit is not only sleek but great for the environment and the company's green efforts. Each Me to We Style garment has been domestically made, using Global Organic Textile Standard certified organic cotton and sweatshop-free manufacturing. Half of the company’s annual profits are donated to international charity and educational partner, Free The Children. For each garment purchased, the company plants a tree.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">This year alone, through its partnership with Me to We Style, Longo’s has enabled 9,000 trees to be planted in Free the Children international development communities.
