To help guests start the New Year on a healthy note, Market Street will hold its annual ‘Healthy New You’ Expo Jan. 5-6. The free event will provide attendees with samples of fresh produce and prepackaged foods, easy healthy recipe ideas, as well as health screenings from Market Street pharmacists, according to a press release.

The expo will take place at all Market Street locations in west Texas and the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5 and Sunday, Jan. 6.

Shoppers will learn how to choose healthier foods with the NuVal™ Nutritional Scoring System, which rates food and beverages on an assigned nutritional value between 1 and 100. The higher the score, the higher the food’s overall nutrition.

“We care about our guests and want to provide them with latest health and wellness information they need to make their choices healthier and easier,” said Alicia Brown, Market Street’s Health and Marketing Manager. “Our NuVal program makes shopping for foods with high nutritional benefits simple. While in the store, shoppers can compare nutritional information between brands and make decisions that fit their family’s needs. This year’s ‘Healthy New You’ Expo is the best time to learn more about NuVal and change the way you shop for food.”

Expo stations will highlight healthy and creative cooking demonstrations featuring fresh fish and meats. Guests can indulge guilt-free in seasonal fruits, fresh juices, and signature chef-created dishes and items from the Living Well menu at the event's sampling station.

Complimentary coupons, recipe cards, and nutritional information will be offered by knowledgeable Market Street team members. Additionally, screenings for blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol will be provided by Market Street pharmacists.

At the expo, guests can learn about and sample products that range from fresh apples and fruit juices to Market Street's low-sodium Lite Classic Chicken Salad and Living Well Favorites peppered pork with mushrooms.
