CORAL GABLES, FL - One of the leading companies in the industry recently welcomed a new member with over 39 years of experience to the Board of Directors at its annual shareholders meeting in May 2019. Mary Ann Cloyd will be joining the Board as an Independent Director and will chair the Board’s Audit Committee as well as become a member of the Governance Committee.
“We work in an increasingly global economy,” said Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “The more we can do to add depth and dimension to our Board, the better equipped we are to serve clients and customers from all walks of life. To support this philosophy, we will continue to launch a variety of initiatives to promote diversity across all levels of the organization.”
Cloyd will join Madeleine L. Champion—another Independent Director, member of the Compensation Committee, and Chair of the Governance Committee—as the second female member of the board, according to the press release. Fresh Del Monte believes that Cloyd’s expertise further strengthens the skillset of its Board of Directors with her 39 years of service with public accounting/consulting firms in both client service and operational roles. During her time, she’s served companies across a variety of industries, including retail, distribution, manufacturing, and energy. She is also highly skilled in managing and growing business units, developing senior leadership, evaluating strategic opportunities and challenges, and overseeing risk management. Not to mention she is well versed in corporate governance matters, including audit, risk, human resources, and compensation.
This comes after a flurry of retirements and appointments for the big company. With her skillset, I’m sure Fresh Del Monte is more than happy to have Cloyd onboard, and ANUK wishes nothing but the best for both their futures.
