TRACY, CA - Galvanized by a fresh chapter, the time is just right to familiarize yourself with QDC Fresh and its burgeoning brand approach, with several categories getting underway for some of the company’s largest brands.
“We're at a really exciting point in QDC Fresh's growth story,” Marvin Quebec, company President, tells me. “This year marked the launch of our first value-added item, Street Corn, which represents our commitment to bringing innovation and consumer-driven solutions to the produce department. At the same time, we've expanded our distribution footprint into Southern California, creating new opportunities to better serve our retail partners while adding production and bagging capabilities that support emerging programs like bulk retail and bagged Australian citrus.”
For retailers, Marvin shares that growth translates into more than just expanded supply: It means access to differentiated products, increased merchandising opportunities, and programs designed to drive incremental sales and shopper engagement.
“Our Australian citrus program is particularly exciting because it allows retailers to help bridge seasonal supply gaps with high-quality imported citrus when domestic availability tightens. Combined with our new bagging capabilities, we're able to offer convenient, vibrant, retail-ready packaging that enhances shelf presentation and supports strong movement at store level,” he explains.
Whether it's a value-added item like Street Corn that brings excitement to a traditional category or a premium citrus program that helps maintain category continuity and consumer satisfaction, the company’s goal is to help retailers capture additional sales while offering shoppers something new and compelling.
“As we continue to grow, we're focused on building programs that combine operational excellence with innovative products that create value throughout the supply chain—from grower to retailer to consumer,” Marvin states. “There's a lot happening across the QDC Fresh portfolio right now and we're excited to continue expanding offerings as demand grows.”
On the citrus side, the company’s exclusive Australian citrus program is off to a strong start. Marvin says first arrivals of Cara Cara oranges and Navels landed Stateside in late July, with Mandarins and Blood oranges following throughout the summer and into the fall.
“The program gives retailers access to premium imported citrus and helps fill supply gaps when domestic availability becomes limited,” he points out.
In addition to its growing categories, QDC gives retailers flexible merchandising options and opportunities to strengthen their own brand presence in the produce department.
“At our core, we're proud to be a grower direct distributor with deep roots in the produce industry. We leverage decades of strong grower and industry relationships to source and deliver the freshest, highest-quality produce possible. Most importantly, we're committed to being a solutions-focused partner for our customers—bringing together quality products, reliable supply, and innovative programs that create value throughout the produce supply chain,” Marvin concludes. “We believe the best is yet to come, and we're excited to share that journey with our retail partners.”
With many exciting plans coming to fruition, this is certainly a brand to watch in the months to come. AndNowUKnow will continue to report.
