KINGSVILLE, ONTARIO - The list of Canada’s Best Managed Companies has hit the newswires once again, and for the fifth consecutive year, Red Sun Farms has clinched a spot. Evaluated based on overall business performance and sustained growth, recipients of the designation are amongst the best-in-class of Canadian-owned and managed companies, and must have revenues over $15 million, as well as demonstrate strategy, capability, and commitment to achieve sustainable growth.

Carlos Visconti, Chief Operating Officer, Red Sun Farms“This recognition is directly related to two key components of our organization,” explained the company’s Chief Operations Officer Carlos Visconti. “One is our vertically-integrated business model, which controls every aspect of production process from seed selection to delivery, and two is our fantastic team of employees that make Red Sun Farms who we are.”

The prestigious Canada’s Best Managed Companies program is now in its 25th year, continuing its legacy as one of the country’s leading business awards recognizing Canadian-owned and managed companies. Each year, hundreds of businesses compete for this distinction, according to a press release, taking part in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates the caliber of their management abilities and practices.

Peter Brown, Partner, Deloitte and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program“It’s much more than just financial performance,” said Peter Brown, Partner at Deloitte and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “The ingredients to success also include overall business performance and sustained growth. It takes dedication and commitment from the entire organization.”

2018 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award will be honored at an annual gala in Toronto on April 11, 2018, in tandem with the Best Managed symposium. The Best Managed program is sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, Canadian Business, Smith School of Business, TMX Group and MacKay CEO Forums.
