GROVER BEACH, CA - With severe weather already impacting Southern California in the past week, we recently learned that last night, a possible tornado touched down. The Grover Beach neighborhood was hit by the storm, causing property damage and downed power lines and trees.
According to ABC News, there have been no reports of injuries since the event took place Wednesday night. The Five Cities Fire Authority will be assessing the damage more thoroughly this morning.
The storm pattern created severe thunderstorm winds of up to 82 miles per hour in Ventura County and 75 mph in Los Angeles County, the news source stated. The possible tornado follows two consecutive atmospheric rivers which have caused flooding and mudslides in Southern California as well.
We are unsure as to how this storm affected produce growers in the region, but will keep you informed as we learn more.
