CALIFORNIA - A relatively cool end of week could end in showers and isolated thunderstorms across parts of Southern California, as Tropical Cyclone Priscilla moves moisture into the region.
“Priscilla may send showers and thunderstorms into Los Angeles County today into early Friday, along with elevated humidity,” the National Weather Service said in its Thursday forecast discussion.
Rainfall totals are expected to remain generally light at less than a quarter of an inch, with only a remote risk of flash flooding or debris flows in burn scar areas. Downtown Los Angeles also faces a chance of showers, though activity will be concentrated over the mountains and deserts.
According to the KTLA Futurecast, moisture was expected to arrive by late Thursday afternoon and return again on Friday. Conditions will shift heading into the weekend, with clear skies and mild temperatures expected.
A separate storm system could bring another round of rain and cooler temperatures early next week.
