Valerie D. Lewis, Safeway’s Assistant Vice President of Legal has just been named one of the “Top Women in Retail” and Finance by Women of Color magazine. It isn’t Ms. Lewis’ first honor- last year she made Savoy Magazine's list of the 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America. She is an expert within the supermarket industry on a spectrum of legal, health and food safety issues. She is the chairperson of the Safeway African American Leadership Network and is on the board of directors for both the Executive Leadership Council and the Leadership Education and Development program.
