<p><strong>Pleasanton, CA</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Safeway has announced its plans to combine the company’s Portland and Seattle divisions into a single Pacific Northwest division. Safeway believes that the location will “allow for significant economies of scale in a highly competitive environment” due to the natural overlap of both locations’ operations.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Steve Frisby, who currently serves as president of the Portland and Seattle divisions, will continue as president of the Pacific Northwest division.
