Schnucks to Open New Farmington, Missouri Location

<p> A new full-service 55,000 square foot Schnucks supermarket may be heading over to the Farmington community in Missouri by the end of 2014.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Farmington Mayor, Stuart (Mit) Landrum, explained, “Although it’s not final, I am pleased to say we’ve taken some important steps to attracting Schnucks, one of the region’s premier experts in food and pharmacy, to the Farmington community.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> “We are excited about serving more customers with our combination of quality products, great customer service and value Schnucks is known for in the region,” said Dave Fontana, Schnucks Vice President of Real Estate. Fontana continued by noting that if the approvals are granted, the city could see a new source of revenue in a full-service supermarket, an increase in about 100 new jobs, and a great new community partner, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> The new Schnucks will be converted from a former 77,000 square foot Value City building. The remaining 22,000 square feet of space will be offered for lease.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Fontana says there is a sales tax reimbursement agreement in place due to previous plans to redevelop the property.
